Nursery Rhyme of the Week
Our Nursery Rhyme of the Week is One finger, one thumb, keep moving - BBC Teach
Maths
This week we are learning about the cardinal principle. This is the understanding that the last number said is the number of items there are in total. This includes counting a set and counting out from a larger group. We will be learning about the importance of lining up our objects and then touching and counting each object one at a time. We will be continuing with this and also thinking about more and less.
Phonics
In our daily phonics lessons, we will be starting to learn about Alliteration and Initial sounds. We will be thinking about the sound of our own names. We will also be using familiar games such as Silly Soup and Cross the river using the initial sounds.
Library will be on Monday. Please ensure your child has their orange reading book and their library book so we can change it. We will also be changing their Wordless reading books.
Monday is our Weekly Parents Sharing Book Session
Times are: 8.30–8.45am and 2.55pm - 3.10pm. In the nursery classroom. Please note: Pudding Lane will be open at 2.55pm for you.
We hope you all have a lovely week of learning and fun at the Nursery!
