Key Stage 2 Meals Letter

Dear Parents/Carers

I hope you have enjoyed the benefits of the Government Funded Free School Meals for your child during their time in Key Stage 1. As your child moves up to Key Stage 2, sadly the universal free school meals come to an end.

However, if you claim any income related benefits you may still be entitled to free school meals. Please call the Helpline on 0300 123 4048 to register.

Benefit Related Free School Meals

If a child does not re-apply at the end of Year 2 then they will NOT automatically be eligible for Free School Meals in Year 3.

A new application is needed by the start of Year 3 and this will then roll over until the child leaves school, again assuming that eligibility does not end before this time.

Lunch payments

Dinner money must be paid in advance, preferably on a Monday, if possible. Payment can be made weekly, half termly or for a full term.

Payments can be made by cash, cheque or via School Gateway (Cheques to be made payable to Herts Catering Ltd)

The cost will be £2.30 per day or £11.50 per week.

All payments MUST be made in advance. A school meal cannot be ordered unless payment has been made and your child’s account is in credit.

School Gateway gives you the flexibility to make a payment at any time; it shows a total of your child’s account balance and also shows which meal option they had selected for that day.

Many thanks for your support in this matter.

Yours sincerely

Mrs E Birch
