Reading: Please continue to encourage your child(ren) to read for pleasure. They should record the reading they do both independently and with an adult in their reading record books. They should do this at least 3 times over a week.
We encourage parents to talk with their child(ren) about the books they have read. Can they summarise what they have read? Can they predict the next event in the book? Can they identify and give reasons for why a character is experiencing certain emotions?
Maths: Please continue to practise times tables either on paper or using games online. We will now be encouraging the children to use Times Table Rockstars for their homework. Quick recall of the times tables is an essential skill that is used in a wide range of maths activities. See the links below:
Spelling: This week's spellings are a review of the patterns we have been learning in class this half term. There are three 2Do's set on purple mash which are quizzes linked to their previous learning. We will give them a short test on a selection of these next Wednesday.
This weeks Purple Mash activities are: The patterns : cial/tial , ent/ence/ency and ance.
If you wish to work on paper or in their paper homework books, the children can choose a selection from the words below. They would not be expected to practise all 30 words 3 times.
