Reading: Please continue to encourage your child(ren) to read for pleasure. They should record the reading they do both independently and with an adult in their reading record books. They should do this at least 3 times over a week.
We encourage parents to talk with their child(ren) about the books they have read. Can they summarise what they have read? Can they predict the next event in the book? Can they identify and give reasons for why a character is experiencing certain emotions?
Maths: Please continue to practise times tables either on paper or using TTRS online - they should all have their Times Tables Rock Stars logins. Quick recall of the times tables is an essential skill that is used in a wide range of maths activities.
Spelling: This half term we are going to be asking the children to revise the words from the statutory 5/6 word list. All of the purple mash activities will link to this. In school we will be developing spelling strategies linked to their own errors. We will use the words learnt at home alongside their own words.
