Galley Hill Primary School, Hemel Hempstead. Galley Hill rated GOOD by Ofsted. Value of the Month - PERSEVERANCE

Friday

Spelling: Today is test day.  Ask someone in your house to give you a test.  They should choose 10 words from the list on yesterday's page. (no peeking Year 3!).  You should have a test where you practise at least 3 of each word ending (el, le, al) to see what you have learnt this week.  Good luck!

English: Today is reading comprehension day.

Below is the links to a wonderful BBC Bitesize activity.  The text is read aloud and then there are activities which follow on using extracts.  You will need to write the work out into your work book unless you are able to do it online and take a screen shot.

This example follows on from our poetry focus this week!  This is also one of my favourite poems as a teacher!

There are 2 poems and 3 activities.  Try to get through as many of the activities as you can.

Here is a link to other poems by Allan Ahlberg.  This website tells you all about him and his inspiration and there are sound clips of him reading some of his other poems too! Why not take a look and see what you can find!  At the bottom of the page you can also click a link to hear an interview with the poet himself!
