To vocally retell a story
Think back to the story you watched at the beginning of the week.
You are going to be retelling the story to someone in an interesting way.
Prepare beforehand think about different voices for different characters, a chronological retelling, make sure you don’t forget any parts.
Retell the story to someone. Ask them to evaluate your retelling.
Choose 10 words from the 3/4 word list and use them in a sentence. If you want to do a little extra you might want to do some rainbow writing, pyramid spelling, an acrostic poem or a nonsense story.
Your Friday reading task is a bit different. We have included a PowerPoint we would like you to look through and see the different types of genre a book can be. We have also included a poster which is reading signposts, where you have signposts showing different genres – have a go at creating your own signpost. Make sure each genre is clear by using things you’d expect to see in that genre for example aliens for Science Fiction, a dragon for Fantasy, a person laughing for Comedy.
You will be finishing this week’s work on fractions with improper fractions. We have included links to some videos if you prefer to see someone else show you how its done.
If you finish there are some ‘Chilli Challenge Cards’ for you to have a go at, these are labelled as EXTENSION on the files below.

For Art we are going to carry on completing our work looking at different artists and the style they used. This week we will be looking at Keith Haring I would like you to read through the PowerPoint to learn about his life and work. I would then like you to have a go at creating a piece of art in his style.
Starter - Mr Men
Discuss names of Mr Men and how they think they would move.
Mr Slow – move slowly
Mr Rush – move fast
Mr Jelly – shake your whole body
Mr Muddle – walk backwards
Mr Bounce – bounce!
Mr Small- crouch and move
Mr Strong – move flexing your muscles
Mr Tall – stretch up
Here are the physical challenges you need to have a go at today. Keep going till you can say each of these sentences are true.
I can jump from 2 feet to 2 feet with a quarter turn in both directions.
I can stand on a line and jump from 2 feet to 1 foot and freeze on landing.
I can jump from 2 feet to 2 feet with 180 degree turn in either direction.
I can complete a tucked jump with 180 degree turn either direction.
I can jump from 2 feet to 2 feet forwards, backwards and side-to-side.
I can hop forwards and backwards, freezing and landing.
I can hop side-ways, raising my knee and freeze on landing.
I can jump from 1 foot to the other sideways, raising my knee and freezing on landing.
I can do a jump into a lunge position, then jump back to a standing position then do the opposite leg.
I can jump 2 feet to 2 feet with a tuck and a 180 degree turn.
I can stand with legs together jump into a lunge position, then jump back to a standing position (both sides).
