Beginning to look at short and long division:
In this lesson we will be learning about short division as a recap before moving onto long division this week. I know a couple of you have asked for more guidance on long division so hopefully this week's lessons will help.
Lesson one:
Thus week, we are going to visit the virtual library. The book this week is ‘Tracy Beaker’ written by Jacqueline Wilson. This book has free access for a week. Read a little each day - see if you can complete any reading challenges at the same time. There is an interview with the author on the same weblink plus some fun activities you could try.
L.O - To identify similarities and differences.
There is lots to listen to today! Listen to each section of the text carefully. After each section, write down some brief notes linked to each story being told - there are two stories told at the same time in this chapter. We are going to be looking for similarities and differences. Use the worksheet below or write out the table in a book or on paper.
Main activity: Identify 2 similarities and 2 differences in the stories told in this chapter.
Story 1 - Stanley digging his first hole.
Story 2 - How his family was cursed.
Challenge: How does Stanley digging the hole link to the challenge that was set for Elya? Try to explain your answer in detail with evidence from the text.
PE
For PE on Monday's we will be re-looking at PE with Joe so lets have a quick re-cap of what his workouts were like. Remember you can also use this time to go for a run or a walk with a family member.
