Thank you so much to all of the parents who were able to attend parent teacher consultations over the last two evenings. We really hope that you found the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher informative and helpful. We believe strongly in the power of a positive partnership between home and school to ensure the children make the best possible progress. If you were unable to make an appointment during this event but would like the opportunity to speak with your child’s teacher, please do get in touch and a mutually convenient meeting can be organised. We really do appreciate your support.
Phonics Open Morning
On the theme of strong partnerships, we are delighted to be hosting a Phonics Open Morning on Thursday (22nd October) for parents of children in Reception and Year 1 (see also the poster below). This is an opportunity for you to come and watch your child’s phonics lesson and learn a little more about how we teach this essential life skill. If you would like to attend, please come to the school office at 9am and we will get you to the right place!
PGL and Activity Week
We hope that our children from Year 6 have an incredible adventure at their residential trip to PGL next week. Thank you in advance to Mrs Spooner, Miss Hosein and Mrs Higgs for giving up your own time to provide the children with this exciting opportunity.
Thanks also to Mrs Prall and Mrs Barnard who are staying at school with the rest of the Year 6 children to run their very own Activity Week. We know that this is also a highlight for so many of our children.
The children from both groups will be presenting an assembly for parents about their adventures on Thursday 12th November at 9am. We hope that many Year 6 parents and carers are able to attend.
Half Term
Next week we will be sending home our next edition of The Class Buzz, which shares learning from around the school. As such this is my last newsletter of the half term. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a lovely half term holiday and look forward to doing it all again in the run up to Christmas!
SENCO and Mary Nyariki Coffee Morning
Come and join Mrs Larner, one of our SENCo team, and Mary Nyariki, our Family Support Worker for an informal coffee morning on Tuesday 20th October from 9am - 10am. They will be discussing routines at home and setting boundaries. Please come along and joint them, everyone is welcome.
