Message from Mrs Birch

Mrs Birch
Mrs Birch - Headteacher

Many thanks to all parents and children for supporting our Wacky Hair day today. We really do appreciate all of the donations for the tombola for our Christmas Market next week. Our FROGS team are working extremely hard behind the scenes to ensure the Christmas Market is a great success and we are very grateful to them. We look forward to sharing this festive community event with you all: 5pm to 7pm on Friday 28th November.

Staff News

We are delighted to be welcoming Miss McLean to our office team on Monday. She will be taking on our Office Administrator role, working every morning. We are sure she will do a fantastic job.

This morning, in assembly, I had the absolute pleasure of presenting Mrs Spooner with her long service award to recognise her contribution to our school for over 20 years. She really does make such an outstanding contribution to the education of our children in her roles as Year 6 teacher, Upper Key Stage Two Lead and English Subject Leader. Thank you for all you do Mrs Spooner!

Galley Hill Government

On Monday, Mrs Reynolds and I had the great pleasure of announcing the successful applicants to our roles for the children in Key Stage Two. Our House Captains, Eco Warriors, Well-Being Heroes, Reading Champions, Digital Leaders and Sports Leaders were all presented with a badge in assembly. They will all now form part of our ‘Galley Hill Government’ and in addition to their meetings with their staff leader, they will also all be meeting with ourselves once a half term to share their great work and new ideas. We are very excited by these new roles within the school. The staff leaders asked me to thank all children who applied for these positions and congratulate them on the high standard of their applications. It made the selection process very hard!
