It was an absolute delight to celebrate World Book Day as a whole school community yesterday. Thank you so much to parents, who took on the challenge of dressing your child as a word or came to read in the afternoon, and to Mrs Spooner for organising the day. It was also a brilliant opportunity to focus, in a fun way, on our school priority of vocabulary development. It certainly got everyone talking about words!
Thank you also to Miss Featherstone and the Year 3/4 team for putting together the Multiplication Open Afternoon this week. We hope all parents who attended enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside their children.
Sharing Assembly
A reminder that Team Crystal is presenting their sharing assembly on Thursday 12th March at 9am. Parents and carers wishing to attend should report to the school office.
Comic Relief
Comic Relief is taking place on Friday 20th March and we are supporting the charity once again this year. Our House Captains, along with Mrs Birtchnell, have decided they would like to hold a 'Wear Something Red' day on the day itself. The children can come to school on the day wearing red in return of a recommended donation of £1 for the charity. This is a non-uniform fundraising day so school uniform does not need to be worn. In the lead up to Comic Relief day there are red noses for sale at the office at a price of £2.
Parents Evening
Bookings for parents evening closes on Monday 9th March so if you have not yet booked an appointment to meet with your child's teacher then please follow the link that you would have received by email. If you are having trouble booking an appointment then please do contact the office who can book an appointment for you.

World Book Day 2026
What a wonderful day we had yesterday! The costumes the children came in were wonderful and there was a fabulous buzz around the school. It was lovely to see parents and carers come in to read with their children.
I would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents, carers and staff who donated books for our 'Reading Cafe'. Every child was offered a book to take home and as we had such a wealth of donations, we even have some left over to put into our classroom libraries. Thank you so much for your generosity and we hope that all of the children enjoy their new book.
A reminder that you can still use your WBD token to get one of the WBD titles or use as a £1 deduction off of a book.

Dogs at school gates
Please can we remind you that if you are bringing a dog with you to walk your child to school that you don't stand too close to the gates with your dog. We have had a number of complaints from parents whose children are scared of dogs and it is causing them upset on their way in to school in the morning. Thank you for your understanding.
