As ever, your children have made us extremely proud during this short but busy term of school. It is a privilege to spend each day with them and hear their enthusiasm for learning and see the incredible progress they continue to make. Thank you to parents for all of your support and also to our brilliant staff for their commitment to our children.
I hope you all have a restful Easter break and I look forward to seeing the children back in school on Tuesday 14th April.
Positive Behaviour Policy Update
Thank you to all parents who recently responded to our consultation on our Positive Behaviour and Anti-Bullying Policies. Following parent feedback, some recent incidents and discussions with governors, staff and other settings, we have made a decision to alter our consequence system slightly so that any sort of physical aggression is given a level 3. This will include any form of hitting, pushing, punching, kicking etc and the level will be issued even if this has been done in retaliation. We believe that it is extremely important to teach our children that we have zero tolerance on any form of physical aggression and we thank you for supporting us with this message.
Uniform Reminder
Over the holidays, we would be extremely grateful if you could please check your child’s uniform fully complies with our list of expectations: Galley Hill Primary School and Nursery - Uniform. As a reminder, cycling shorts can only be worn under a dress or skirt for modesty. Children should not come into school with only leggings or cycling shorts as these are not part of our uniform policy.
Dacorum Football League
Our boys football team put in a fantastic effort on Tuesday in the Dacorum League semi-final, showing perseverance, teamwork, and plenty of passion from the first whistle to the last. After a tightly contested match, we were narrowly defeated 2–1, but the players should be incredibly proud of how they performed. We created some great chances, defended bravely, and kept pushing right to the end. Thanks to Coach Corey for running the football club each week and to the parents that have supported the boys and transported them around to the matches prior to the semi-final. Well done to all the players for a brilliant run to the semi-finals!
Reminders
A small reminder that the EYFS playground should not be used in the morning before school, as staff are busy setting it up for the day’s provision. Keeping the area clear helps ensure everything is safe, ready, and well-prepared for our youngest learners. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
Please remember not to park on the yellow “Keep Clear” markings outside the school gates. These areas must remain free at all times to ensure children can arrive and leave safely, and to keep access clear for emergency vehicles. Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe.
