Galley Hill Primary School, Hemel Hempstead. 'Value of the Month - 'CARING'

Thursday

Hello children and the grown-ups!
Well our week is zooming by, I can't believe it is Thursday already! The weather forecast is meant to be good for today 🀞🏼🀞🏼🀞🏼so make sure you get outside and get some fresh air. Maybe have a go at painting some sounds or words on the floor/wall with water and a paintbrush, play a game of catch or have a run around to get really out of breath!

The plan for today is:

You all know me and you know how much I love singing. I wonder if you remember my favourite song. Did you managed to guess? Yes, it is the 'Twinkle twinkle little star'. But we are not going to sing it today, well... we can, then we can learn a new song about the Planets. Click on the link below and join in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2prtmPEjOc&ab_channel=KidsTV123

Phonics:
Recall the sounds using the Phonicsplay, join in with the children in the class or use your own flash cards.
For a main part see Miss Edmonds introducing another cluster in the video. Today it is all about ‘not’.

Literacy: starting with the Q and A time.
We are so glad to see how curious you all are and thank you for sending us all the questions about Space. We will try to answer some of them so watch the video.

Maths: weights
All week we used different 'made' resources to weigh things. Today we will be looking at the scales and how we use them. There are lots of different scales that we use for different things. Watch the video. If you have a scale at home go and get it and join in. If not, don't worry. You can still be part of the lesson by watching and answering the questions.

Woodlands/gardening lesson:
Make your own ‘mini green house’. Watch the videos of Mrs Prince showing what you will need and how to make it. There are things that you will need your grownups to do as it is tricky. Have fun. I wonder what will you decide to plant πŸ˜ŠπŸ€”

Computing: use the Purple Mash programme to play the game. You can be an astronaut for one day. Share your pictures with us. The logins are at the back of your Orange reading records books.

Story time: Listen to Eric Carle's (The author of the Very Hungry Caterpillar) story 'Papa, please get the moon for me' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGqAw7UM6qo  I wonder what you could use to try to reach the moon and the stars? Try to draw or design it and share it with us.

Have a terrific Thursday everyone and see you all on Monday.

REMEMBER THAT FRIDAY IS SCREEN FREE DAY SO THERE WILL BE NO VIDEOS, NO WATCHING US, NO TECHNOLOGICAL DEVICES SHOULD BE USED.
THERE WILL BE ANOTHER POST FOR YOU TO SEE IDEAS FOR FRIDAY.
