Using the ‘Planning’
Choose a differentiated planner to plan how your ____ works
Check ‘Example plan’ for guidance
Choose 10 words from the 3/4 word list and use them in a sentence. If you want to do a little extra you might want to do some rainbow writing, pyramid spelling, an acrostic poem or a nonsense story.
It's Thursday so that means it's time to DEAR - drop everything and read! You should, at some point during the day, drop whatever it is you're doing, get comfy and read for 20 minutes.
If you end up somewhere good send us a pic – we’d love to see what you’ve been reading!
In maths today you’re continuing your work with negative numbers. The questions today will be primarily focused on temperature but if you need to, review watch the bbc bitesize clip from yesterday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/znwj6sg/articles/zxthnbk
If you finish there is an extension activity to help improve your confidence with negative numbers and a 2do on purple mash, plus you can always practise your times tables on TTRS.
We are going to be continuing our history projects that you started last week. Last week you began by researching these mountaineers and made careful notes.
Mountaineers: Edmund Hilary, Tenzing Norgay, Reinhold Messner, Apa Sherpa, Edurne Pasaban, Wanda Rutkiewicz, Junko Tabei and Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner.
You are going to be spending this week creating a mini book, a poster or PowerPoint about these mountaineers their lives and achievements. I would suggest you focus on the writing first then move onto the images, drawing pictures, adding decoration at the end. You won’t have time to do all the mountaineers so I would choose between 2 and 4 of your favourites.
For computing today we would like you to spend some time on Microsoft word exploring the shortcuts you can use to make life easier. For instance did you know holding the ‘ctrl’ key and the ‘s’ key at the same time will save your work?
Go through the PowerPoint, look through the short cuts and have a go at the challenge cards.
If you’re using an iPad some of these won’t be available but see if you can investigate and see how to change your font, change the size etc. on there instead.
If you feel like you’re missing your friends – why not send them an email?
On PurpleMash you can use: https://www.purplemash.com/app/links/2email#/inbox to send messages to anyone in Year 4.
We miss you and can’t wait to see you soon!
Team Year 4!
