Galley Hill Primary School, Hemel Hempstead. Galley Hill rated GOOD by Ofsted. Value of the Month - PERSEVERANCE

Tuesday

In your book, write a sentence to explain which month of the year is your favourite and why you selected it.

Think about what happens during that month to make you like it.

The Muslim Calendar is 12 months / 354 days. It is a lunar calendar. We are looking at a particular month called Ramadan. What clues can you get from these pictures?

Think of some questions you would like the answers to about Ramadan. Write them down in your book and as we work through the lesson, let's see if they get answered. If they do, write the answers down!

Let's watch some clips and see if we can answer some of your questions.

Ramadan is happening now so Muslims around the world are currently fasting while the sun is up. Lots of muslims use this time to reflect on their faith and consider how they can improve themselves by doing good deeds.

Your task

This is a good deed jar that someone created for the month of Ramadan. In it, they are putting 30 slips of paper, each with a good deed written on it. They pull one out each day and perform that good deed. I'd like you to create your own good deed jar! It can be made out of anything you like, a bag, a box, a jar, whatever you like and decorated in a way that matches your personality. Inside, place 30 pieces on paper with a good deed written on it and perform 1 deed a day!

Some examples of good deeds could be:

Tidy a part of my home that isn't my bedroom

Helping to make dinner

Put my own clothes away

Help with the washing up
