Monday 6th July

Good Morning Year 5! We hope you have had a lovely weekend and are ready for the final week of tasks :) 

 

Spellings: Choose 10 new words from the word list. These will be your new spellings for the week. You will need to practise them 3 times this week – it is your choice how you practise them (suggestions include: pyramids, definitions, dotty, curly, silly sentences, backwards, rainbow, flowers, blue vowels etc.)

 

Reading: Read your book for at least 20 minutes in the most unusual location you can think of. We would love to see a picture of you enjoying your book in these weird and wonderful places.

 

English: You will find your English task below. In the document there are 3 tasks to choose from – you need to make sure you complete 2 of these tasks. (If you’d like to complete all 3 then go for it! There’s also an extension if you’re up for an extra challenge)

TTRS: Don’t forget to complete your weekly TTRS 20 minutes. I’ll be looking at the high scorers, most improved and especially the best avatar outfits. Mine looks great as Godzilla!

Sadly we haven’t had the Year 5 we were expecting, but we hope you have still had a good year. Your final project of the year is your chance to think about and celebrate the good times! As always you can choose however you’d like to present your work. Feel free to choose your own topic relating to Year 5, or choose from the following ideas:

  • Your favourite subject
  • A memorable lesson
  • A stand out moment or day

Tuesday 7th July

PE: Get active for at least 30 minutes. We recommend completing PE with Joe Wicks – live on his YouTube channel ‘The Body Coach’ every day at 9am. You could also look at some ‘Just Dance’ videos or get yourself outside for a walk, ride on your bike or even kicking a ball around on the local field.

 

Purple Mash:  You will find new activities (music/computing etc tasks) on purple mash for you to complete this week – remember to ‘hand in’ your work and write a comment if you’d like J

 

Reading: Read your book for at least 20 minutes. Read aloud even if no one else is listening. Try to include different tones and voices to make it sound interesting/fun.

We are on ‘Summer Term Week 11, Lesson 2 - Reasoning about 3D shapes’

Look at the tasks and try to complete as many as you can on your own. Get the family involved and complete the rest together. You’ll need to get those problem solving hats on.

You'll find today's tasks below, have a fabulous day!

 

Spellings: Practise the 10 spellings from the word list that you selected on Monday – remember it is your choice how you practise them (suggestions include: pyramids, definitions, dotty, curly, silly sentences, backwards, rainbow, flowers, blue vowels etc.)

 

Reading: Find something around the house that you can read for at least 20 minutes. This could be a newspaper or magazine, something on the internet, instructions, a recipe etc. It could be one thing that lasts for 20 minutes or several smaller things.

 

English: You will find your English task below. In the document there are 3 tasks to choose from – you need to make sure you complete 2 of these tasks. (If you’d like to complete all 3 then go for it! There’s also an extension if you’re up for an extra challenge)

Thursday 9th July

DT: Design and make a photo frame. Try and be as creative as possible! Only use materials you already have at home – we don’t want you going out to buy anything! Once you have completed your project send us a picture. We can’t wait to see what you’ve made!

Friday 10th July

Happy FriYAY Year 5! You did it!

I know this year has ended differently than expected but we had a great start and loved teaching each and every one of you. We wish you all have a super summer and are ready to experience life as a Year 6 in September.
