Christmas Crafts 3rd December
The children had a great time crafting for Christmas. They made hot chocolate reindeer, scratch art snowflakes and a colour in your own calendar. This event helped raise £300 toward our Christmas bank so that those less fortunate can have a spectacular Christmas too. Thank you to all of those who supported this event.
Pizza Making
The children created their festive pizzas in teams this week. The smells of cheese permeated the air.
Making arrays
The children were using cubes to help them make arrays to show multiplication and division. At home, you can use counters, hairbands, sweets or marbles.
Pizza tasting and designing - 17th November
Yummy in our tummy! We enjoyed tasting different pizza toppings to determine which toppings were popular, nutritious and would help create a festive theme for our Christmas party at the end of term. Popular choices were pineapple and sweetcorn.
Celtic Harmony Trip - 3rd November
The children impressed all the adults with their knowledge and their behaviour. The children explored life in the stone-age. They learnt how fire was made from scratch, heard stories beside a fire, make a stew and learnt about stone-age tools and how to craft them.
Cross-Country at JFK
Thank you to our volunteers that came to walk with us. The children impressed themselves with how quick they could be. We look forward to Sports Day at what could be a very exciting day of races!
Mixing Colours
The children have impressed with their successful mixing of colours this afternoon. Mixing primary colours to make secondary colours and then the art of mixing their unique skin colours.
Y3 Target-Based Sports Festival - Adeyfield
Thank you to our volunteers that came with us. The children had a great time playing various target-based games from archery, mini golf, curling to throwing bean bags and balls. It was also a chance to see a local secondary school.
Welcome Back!
We are delighted to share that the children have had such a positive start to the year so far. We are very proud of the progress they are already making and how quickly they have settled into Key Stage Two routines.
The children are exploring self-portraits by artist Frida Kahlo in Art, the different nutrients we need from different food groups in Science and what 'pre-history' is in History. We are very impressed with the perseverance shown in joining their handwriting and finding 1, 10 and 100 more and less of a three-digit number.
Thank you for your continued support and communication, which has helped make their transition into Year 3 as smooth as possible. We are looking forward to the exciting term ahead!
