Hi Nursery!

Our Topic this half-term will be Festivals and Celebrations.

Important Notices this week!

Monday 3rd November - 

  • 3.15pm-3.45pm - It is Open Classrooms - This is a time when you can bring your child back into the classroom so they can show you all the things that they enjoy and they can show you their wow wall.

This Week's learning:

This week we will be learning about the book Sparks in the Sky.  Here is a link - Sparks in the Sky | Twinkl Originals .  This week, we will be focusing on Autumn.  We will be talking about the signs of Autumn.  We will be going on a walk to see if we can spot the signs.  We will also be looking at the autumn things you have brought in from your Autumn bags! We will also be making lots of Autumn crafts and talking about Fireworks and how to stay safe.  

 

Phonics 

In phonics this week, we will learning to use musical instruments and thinking about the noises they make.  We will be also be using the musical instruments in a quiet and loud way.  We will be linking it to our topic on fireworks and creating our own firework noises.  

Maths 

This week we are going to be thinking about 2D shapes - Circles, squares, rectangles and triangles as well as other shapes they may know.  If you spot any in the local area please point them out to your child and talk about them.  Use vocabulary like - round, straight, sides, curved and corners.  
 

Woodlands

In Woodlands this week, we will be looking for the signs of Autumn and looking at the change of colour of the leaves etc.  

 

 

Nursery Rhyme of the Week

Library will be on Monday.  Please ensure your child has their orange reading book and their library book so we can change it.
