Hi Nursery!

Our Topic this half-term will be Transport and People Who Help us! 

This Week's learning:

This week we will be learning about different types of transport. We will be learning about the difference between air, water and land transport.    We will be learning about different types of transport by taking part in a road traffic survey.  In PE, we will be learning to move like different transport.  

Nursery Rhyme of the Week

Our Nursery Rhyme of the Week is 5 Little Firemen Makaton - FIVE LITTLE FIREMEN - Singing Hands

Maths

Last half-term, we have been focussing on a number a week, up to 5.  This half-term we are going to use this knowledge to extend our learning even further.  

This week in maths, we are going to be thinking about using our fingers in lots of different ways to make numbers to 5.  We will also be learning to count accurately, by touching each object once and learning the end number is the cardinal principle.  

Phonics

In Phonics, we will be beginning our learning about Rhyme! We will be reading rhyming books and see if we can notice the rhyme.  We will be playing games like cross the river and Silly Soup to see if we can identify rhyming words.  

Dough Disco

Our Dough Disco song this week will be: 'I like to' playdough action song

Library will be on Monday, this week due to our inset day on Monday.  Please ensure your child has their orange reading book and their library book so we can change it.  

Don't forget on Monday 12th January, we will be continuing our Weekly Parents Sharing Book Session. 

Times are: 8.30–8.45am and 2.55pm - 3.10pm.  In the nursery classroom.  Please note: Pudding Lane will be open at 2.55pm for you.
