WC: 9th March 2026

This week's learning:

This week we will be learning all about Mother's Day.  We will be talking about why our mums are so important to us and other special people in our lives.  We will be learning to use the word 'because' to think about why are mums are so important.  We will be reading the story My Mum is Fantastic / Read Aloud / StoryTime.

Nursery Rhyme of the Week

Our Nursery Rhyme of the Week is The grand old Duke of York - BBC Teach

Maths

We will be learning all about Subitising! This is where you learn to recognise a number of objects without having to count.  Like dots on a dice.  We will be concentrating on 1-3 first.  We will be using this video to help us Subitizing 1-3.

Phonics

In Phonics, we will be recapping Rhyme and beginning to look at Alliteration.  I will be sending home a parent guide about this too.  We will be playing games like cross the river where we try and think of the same sound as an object.

Dough Disco

Our Dough Disco song this week will be: We Don't Talk About Bruno, Dough Disco - YouTube.

Library will be on Monday.  Please ensure your child has their orange reading book, wordless book and their library book so we can change it.

Don't forget on Monday, we will be continuing our Weekly Parents Sharing Book Session

Times are: 8.30–8.45am and 2.55pm - 3.10pm.  In the nursery classroom.  Please note: Pudding Lane will be open at 2.55pm for you.

We hope you all have a lovely week of learning and fun at the Nursery!
