    Wed 22 Nov 2017
This morning we were visited by the artist who has made some amazing friendship benches for our KS1 and KS2 playgrounds. Her name is Sarah and she has a company called Rufd. The benches were purchased by the FROGs with money raised at school events. Pop over to the PTA page to see a picture of our School Council with the benches.

    20 November 2017

    Dear Parents/Carers

    Key Stage One Christmas Production

Our Christmas Production, ‘The Magical Christmas Jigsaw’ will take place in the main school hall on Wednesday 13 December at 6.00pm and Thursday 14  December at 6.00pm.

There will also be a dress rehearsal on Tuesday 12  December at 1.30pm, for which there are very limited seats.

We politely ask that babies and toddlers are not brought to the evening performances, but they are welcome to attend this afternoon dress rehearsal instead.

The children will need to be back in school at 5.30pm for the evening performances to allow time to get dressed.

Due to fire regulations, we are only able to offer 2 tickets per family. Please complete the slip below and return it to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible or by Monday 4 December at the latest. We will do our very best to accommodate you. We will inform you if there are any spare tickets later on.

This year we will be issuing numbered tickets for all performances and we would like to make it clear that every member of the audience will need to have and bring their own ticket, even accompanying toddlers. This is because we need to be very sure that we are not breaking any Health and Safety or Fire regulations.

For the same Health and Safety and Fire reasons we are unable to allow any buggies into the hall for the performances, unfortunately we cannot make any exceptions.

Can we politely ask you to remember that the children performing are very young and easily distracted so please do not feel embarrassed to take your toddler out to calm them down if they should become upset or unsettled during the performance.

We would like to request that toddlers must remain seated throughout the performance and the aisles must be kept clear as the ‘performers’ will be moving through these areas.

    Yours sincerely

Miss Penning, Miss Keal, Miss Waterhouse, Mrs Birtchnell and Mrs Yates

    17 November 2017

    Dear Parents/Carers

We are planning to take the Year 6 children to Gadebridge Park on Wednesday 29 November. We will be conducting some fieldwork by the River Gade as part of our Geography focus on rivers and the water cycle.

The children will need to come into school dressed in their school uniform and school shoes on that day, however, they must wear a warm coat/jacket and bring in their wellies in a bag.

Their lunchtime routine will be as normal, as we intend to be back before midday.

    Yours sincerely

    Miss Hosein                    Dr Inglis

  • Nursery Times Letter

    Fri 17 Nov 2017

    20 November 2017

    Dear Parents and Carers,

Please can we remind you that our Nursery morning session starts at 8.30 am and finishes at 11.30 am, the afternoon session starts at 12.30 pm and finishes at 3.30 pm every day.

It is very important that your child arrives promptly and stays until the end of each session. Late arrivals in the morning miss the start of their lesson and it is very disruptive for your child because they know they are late to school.

We do understand that on a rare occasion a child needs to be picked up early because of an emergency. Unfortunately, most days children are being picked up at different times at the end of the afternoon nursery session. We are a school and our routines and teaching patterns are very different from child care settings. If your child is being picked up between 3.00pm and 3.20pm then they miss their phonic lesson that day. These lessons are a very important part of every child’s education. If a member of staff is getting children ready to go home every few minutes, then this means children and lessons cannot be taught.

We have two collection times for afternoon nursery children. 30 hour children are collected at 2.30pm and 15 hour children at 3.30pm.

If you do need to collect your child early due to an emergency situation, then please use the 2.30pm collection time.

We do appreciate your help and support with school routines, which enables the teaching of all your children to take place, without interruptions, every day.

    Thank you for your understanding,

    Miss Elsey

    Deputy Headteacher
