Dear Parents/Carers
We have arranged to take the Year 6 children on a trip to Harry Potter World, Watford. This will take place on Monday 4 June 2018.
In class we are learning about ……………………………………...
Due to this attraction requiring full payment six weeks in advance, we are kindly requesting that payment be made by Wednesday 21 March.
All children must be dressed in school uniform.
The coach will be leaving the school at 9.15am and aims to return at approx. 3.00pm. We will keep you fully informed regarding the return journey.
The children will need a packed lunch on the day. However, they can bring their lunches in a rucksack as this will be easier to carry and lunchboxes can be awkward to carry around all day.
NO glass bottles, cans or sweets please.
Those children who receive Free School Meals can be provided with a pre-ordered packed lunch on the day. Please specify below if you wish your child to order one.
The cost of this trip will be £23.00 per child, which will cover the cost of entrance and the coach. This can be paid by cash, cheque or via the School Gateway online payment system. Please can any cheques be made payable to Galley Hill Primary School.
Unfortunately, if insufficient funds are received, the trip will have to be cancelled. If you have any queries or difficulties paying this, please do call the office.
Please kindly fill in the permission slip below, with payment and return it to school by Wednesday 21 March 2018.

Dear Parents/Carers
Galley Hill School has been offered a cycle training programme where qualified cycle instructors will come into school and teach level 2 cycle training course. This course is open to Year 5 children only and will take place from Tuesday 8 - 11 May 2018.
We have been offered this course at a fantastic price of £25.00 per child (normally £45 per child). This is a great opportunity and an excellent life skill to have.
Level 1 & 2 – Skills & Basic Road
The pupils will learn a series of skills exercises on the playground with integrated theory based on Tales of the Road and highway code for young users including sessions at local road junctions.
Successful participants will receive a level 2 skills certificate and badge.
Bikes need to be in a good road worthy condition prior to the start of the course and safety helmets are compulsory.
Bikes will need to come in on the Tuesday morning and can be kept here for the week. Bikes will be brought into the school and stored safely each evening. Bikes can be taken home each afternoon but you will need to ensure that it comes back every morning. Unfortunately, the school cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damages should they occur.
There must be a minimum of 10 pupils to participate in this course. Unfortunately, If the numbers are less we will not be able to go ahead with the course.

Dear Parents/Carers
On Tuesday 13th March we will be taking the children on a guided walk around the local area, including the Old Town High Street and Gadebridge Park as part of our topic on Hemel Hempstead. The children will be leaving school at approximately 9:30am and will return before the end of the school day.
The children will need a packed lunch from home (no glass bottles, cans or sweets please) or we can supply a school packed lunch providing this has been ordered in advance. They can bring their lunches in a rucksack as this will be easier to carry and lunchboxes can be awkward to carry around all day.
As the weather is often unpredictable, please ensure that you send your child into school with appropriate clothing e.g. a waterproof/warm coat and sensible shoes for walking.
We ask that you return the permission slip below by Friday 2nd March, and if you have any queries or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.

In class we are learning about World War 2 and its impact on the United Kingdom.
All children must be dressed in school uniform.
The coach will be leaving the school at 9.15am and aims to return at approx. 3.00pm. We will keep you fully informed regarding the return journey.
The children will need a packed lunch on the day. However, they can bring their lunches in a rucksack as this will be easier to carry and lunchboxes can be awkward to carry around all day.

Dear Parents/Carers
Book week will commence on 26 February. There will be lessons and activities all week focusing on our love of books and book characters.
World Book Day is on Thursday 1st March, we would like all pupils to come to school dressed as an animal from a story book. They can bring in this book or their favourite book from home. There will be a reward for the best or most creative animal costume.
Scholastic book fair will be held in the hall after school during the week 5 – 9 March 2018.

Dear Parents/Carers
The Year 6 children have been invited to an Athletics Festival at Cavendish School on Friday 9 March.
We will be leaving school at 12.30 and will return at 3pm.
Lunch arrangements will remain the same.
Please ensure children come into School Uniform in the morning but please ensure children have P.E. Kits including trainers / warm clothing in case of bad weather and a water bottle.
Please complete the slip below and return to the class teacher by Friday 23 February.
