Dear Parents/Carers
We have arranged to take the Year 3 children on a trip to St Albans Cathedral, St Albans. This will take place on Tuesday 25 September 2018.
In class we are learning about The Romans.
All children must be dressed in school uniform.
The coach will be leaving the school at 9.15am and aims to return at approx. 3.15pm. We will keep you fully informed regarding the return journey.
The children will need a packed lunch on the day. However, they can bring their lunches in a rucksack as this will be easier to carry and lunchboxes can be awkward to carry around all day.
NO glass bottles, cans or sweets please.
Those children who receive Free School Meals can be provided with a pre-ordered packed lunch on the day. Please specify below if you wish your child to order one.
We will need some extra adult helpers on the day, please specify below if you will be able to help.
The cost of this trip will be £13.00 per child, which will cover the cost of entrance and a handling session as well as the coach. This can be paid by cash, cheque or via the School Gateway online payment system. Please can any cheques be made payable to Galley Hill Primary School.
Unfortunately, if insufficient funds are received, the trip will have to be cancelled. If you have any queries or difficulties paying this, please do call the office.
Please kindly fill in the permission slip below, with payment and return it to school by Tuesday 11 September.
Yours sincerely

5 July 2018
Dear Parents/Carers
We wanted to give you a few last pieces of information about our sleepover next week, Thursday 12 July 2018.
When your child arrives at school on Thursday morning, they should take their sleepover things (please label!!) to the big hall via the fire doors (accompanied by an adult) where Miss Simmons will be there to meet them. They should then go to the playground as normal.
The children will need to come to school in school uniform on Thursday but they may wear their own clothes on Thursday evening and on Friday. Please make sure they are comfortable and practical for climbing on the climbing wall.
There is a chance we will hold a water fight, although this is not definite, so please make sure you send in clothes that you are happy for them to get wet in.
We will be watching ‘The Greatest Showman’ on Thursday evening, which is a PG rated movie. If you do not give permission for your child to watch this, please let one of the adults in Year 4 know. If you wish, you may provide your child with movie snacks. They will have eaten their BBQ and marshmallows for dinner beforehand, so a light snack would be best.
Finally, please remember that if your child needs any regular medication, you will need to hand it to the class teacher on Thursday morning with the correct medical form, which you can get from the office.
Please remember to pack:
Sleeping bag/duvet
Pillow
Sleeping mat/bed* *please note, if the children bring an airbed, they will have to inflate it.
Pyjamas
Underwear
Clothes
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Towel
Yours sincerely
