  • Year 3 Mosque Trip

    Thu 27 Feb 2020

    27 February 2020

    Dear Parents/Carers

We have arranged to take the Year 3 children on a trip to the North Watford Mosque to help with part of their RE topic this term.  This will take place on Monday 23rd March 2020.

All children must be dressed in school uniform. The coach will be leaving the school at 9.30am and aims to return at approx. 11.30am.

The children will be back at school for lunch so normal lunch arrangements will be in place.

The cost of this trip will be £4 per child, which will cover the cost of the coach. This can be paid online via the School Gateway payment system along with giving parental consent. If you require assistance downloading the app, please see below or pop into the office.  Alternatively, you can pay by cash at the office.

Please can we make you aware that when trips are arranged, the cost is based on the total number of children in that particular year/class group. Depending on venue and transport company, we usually have to pay in advance. If for any reason your child is not in school on the day of the trip, unfortunately, we will not be able to refund you as payment to the venue and transport will have already been paid for.

Thank you for your support in this matter.

Unfortunately, if insufficient funds are received, the trip will have to be cancelled. If you have any queries or difficulties paying this, please contact the office.

We may require some parent helpers for the trip. They will be asked to lead a small group of around 5/6 children and assist them to complete their workbook. If you feel you are able to do this, please let the class teachers know.

    Yours sincerely

Coronavirus - letter from Prof Jim McManus, Director of Public Health

    Statement for parents and carers

As you will be aware, there has been a lot of information in the news about returning trips to Italy over half term in light of the recent measures put in place by the Italian Authorities on Coronavirus.

We would like to assure you that there is no cause for concern, none of the school trips run by Hertfordshire schools were within the ten towns which the Italian Authorities have put on quarantine measures and Hertfordshire residents remain at low risk.

If you have returned from the quarantines towns and develop flu like symptoms, please stay at home, avoid contact with other people and call NHS111.

Taking basic hygiene precautions remains the best way to reduce the chances of spreading any virus: sneeze or cough into a tissue, bin it, wash your hands frequently and don’t touch your face unless you’ve just washed your hands.  Using a normal detergent to clean the surfaces people touch regularly like door handles and lift buttons is also sensible.

Please visit  www.gov.uk/coronavirus for the most up to date advice.
