  • Year 5 Chiltern Open Air Museum Trip

    Fri 13 Sep 2019

    17 July 2019

    Dear Parents/Carers

We have arranged to take the Year 5 children on a trip to Chiltern Open Air Museum, Chalfont St Giles.  This will take place on Friday 13 September 2019.

In class, we are learning about Invasion focusing on the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings.

All children must be dressed in school uniform.

The coach will be leaving the school at 9.15am and aims to return by 3.00pm. We will keep you fully informed regarding the return journey if necessary.

The children will need a packed lunch on the day. However, they can bring their lunches in a rucksack, as this will be easier to carry around all day.

NO GLASS BOTTLES, CANS OR SWEETS PLEASE.

Those children who receive Free School Meals, can pre-order one via the School Gateway app.

The cost of this trip will be £17.50, which will cover the cost of entrance and the coach, this will also be available to pay in two instalments. This can be paid online via the School Gateway payment system along with giving parental consent. If you require assistance downloading the app, please see below or pop into the office.

Cash or cheque are also accepted. Please can cheques be made payable to Galley Hill Primary School.

Please can we make you aware that when trips are arranged, the cost is based on the total number of children in that particular year/class group. Depending on venue, we usually have to pay in advance. If for any reason your child is not in school on the day of the trip, unfortunately, we will not be able to refund you as payment to the venue and transport will have already been paid for.

Thank you for your support in this matter.

Unfortunately, if insufficient funds are received, the trip will have to be cancelled. If you have any queries or difficulties paying this, please contact the office.

We may require some parent helpers for the trip. They will be asked to lead a small group of around 5/6 children and assist them to complete their workbook. If you feel you are able to do this, please let the class teachers know.

    Yours sincerely

  • Year 6 River Trip

    Mon 09 Sep 2019

    Dear Parents/Carers

We are planning to take the Year 6 children to Gadebridge Park on Monday 9 September. We will be conducting some fieldwork by the River Gade as part of our Geography focus on rivers and the water cycle.

The children will be leaving school after morning registration and will be back by the end of the normal school day.

The children should come to school dressed in old clothing that is ok to get wet and muddy, with trousers that can be rolled up above the knee. They must bring in a warm coat/jacket if the weather is looking cold and bring in their wellies in a bag. We do expect that the children’s feet will get wet, despite wearing wellies, so please send a small old towel for drying off and a spare pair of dry socks.

The trip is free of charge; however, permission will still need to be given. This can be done via School Gateway.

The children will need a packed lunch on the day. However, they can bring their lunches in a rucksack as this will be easier to carry around all day. NO GLASS BOTTLES, CANS OR SWEETS PLEASE.

Those children in receipt of Free School Meals can be provided with a pre-ordered packed lunch on the day. Please state if one will be required when you give permission on School Gateway.

    Yours sincerely
