Diamond Class: Wednesday 11th December

Please be aware that due to staff shortages in Diamond Class last week and this week, reading books have been changed today (wednesday 11th) for those children who had their books and records in school and who had finished 1, 2 or all 3 of their books.  I will change more books for those who need it on the morning of Thursday 12th.  It is unlikely that any books will be able to be changed on Friday 13th due to staff shortages.  Please may I take this opportunity to remind you that reading books and reading records should be in school every day so that children can read individually with visiting adults, Mrs Law and myself regularly and also to factor in changing books when it may not be possible to do so on our usual change day of Friday.  Thank you for your continued support with this.  Mrs Ewer

Please continue to send in any cereal boxes, toilet roll tubes, kitchen roll tubes etc you might have for our exciting DT day on Wednesday 18th December.

On Monday 9th December Year 2 visited Windsor Castle.  We had an amazing time, learnt lots of interesting facts about Queen Elizabeth II in our workshop and saw some amazing rooms within the castle.  We were also lucky enough to visit while the Queen was at home so we got to see the Royal Standard (a red and yellow flag) flying when we arrived.  We also saw the flag going down and being replaced by the Union Jack when she left to head back to Buckingham Palace later in the day.  Here are some pictures from our wonderful day out.

PE

Now that the weather is turning colder and some of our PE sessions are outside please ensure your child has an outdoor PE kit as per the school policy (joggers, sweatshirt, hat and gloves and trainers).  This should be in school every day please as sometimes our timetable does change.  If you're child has outgrown any joggers and sweatshirts we would really appreciate them as spare PE kit.  Thank you.

To Diamond Class : Optional Homework : Make festive Christmas decoration for our classroom.  It can be anything you like, any size, any colour, any amount of glitter, the more Christmassy the better. See you Monday, Mrs Ewer x

11th December update:  Thank you for the lovely decorations that have been made so far.  There is still time to get your festive feeling on and if you fancy making any decorations then you have until Monday 16th to do so. X
