Year 5 Sporting Champions Event

14  June

Dear Parents/Carers

To tie in with our Sports Week, the Year 5 children have been invited to take part in a Sporting Champions Event being held at Hemel Sportspace on Thursday 20 June.  We apologise for the late notice but we have only just been given confirmation of our involvement.

At the event will be Gold Level Sports Champion Marcus Ellis, who is the mens doubles and mixed doubles Badminton player who is the Commonwealth Champion 2018 and Olympic Bronze medallist 2016. James Tiley, a Silver Level Sports Champion, who is an international Lacrosse player for Wales who plays in the Southern England Premier League, and also Zack Bobrowski, a Bronze level Sports Champion who is an under 17’s junior Badminton Player currently ranked number 1 in Hertfordshire, and number 14 across the country in Men’s singles.

The children will be introduced to the sporting champions and take part in a brief Q&A session with them. They will then take part in a mass warm up and be split off into groups to be coach led taking part in Badminton, Hockey and Netball.  There will then be brief autograph signing before returning to school.

We will be leaving school at 9.15am and will return at 12pm.  Lunch arrangements will remain the same.

Children can come in P.E. Kits including trainers and a water bottle.  There will be a photographer and videographer present on the day so please let us know if you do not wish your child to be photographed/filmed and they will be issued a wrist band on the day so they are not included in the filming.

Please complete the slip below and return to the class teacher by Wednesday 19 June, or consent can be made via the School Gateway app.

Yours sincerely

Miss Penning
